Summary
Video games and anime have been key components in my growth as a writer. I have been writing about video games and anime for almost a year, while my background in writing extends 2 years as of today. Over this span, I have continuously improved and crafted a writing style that fits gaming journalism. I especially displayed this during my time as a freelance writer at Siliconera.
At Siliconera, my role was to create craft articles pertaining to anime, gaming, and related figures. These articles included guides, lists, and opinion pieces of various popular anime and games. My most prominent examples of gaming list articles are 10 Best Anime Games on the PlayStation 2, Best Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel Meta Decks, and The Best 6 GameBoy Advance JRPGs in English. In addition to gaming and anime lists, I wrote guides for different current games and anime titles. A few standouts consist of the Sakurajima Island update for Palworld and the Nintendo Switch release of Darkest Dungeon 2. I have also concocted how-to guides for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE events and Cult of the Lamb expansions.
Although I have had experience creating and running my own websites using Medium and my own coding knowledge as tools, my time at Siliconera gave me a comprehensive outline on how to use WordPress, Slack, and Trello for better SEO practices and pitching articles to editors.
On YouTube, I write and edit video essays on anime video games including but not limited to Naruto and Dragon Ball. I interact with every comment in a timely manner while making content that my viewers suggest as we grow together.
I have grown my knowledge of programming as well. While not at what I would call a proffesional yet, I made many projects ranging from simple resume templates to static webpages. Due to developing websites and my role at Siliconera, I've become accustomed to restricted timelines. In the future, I hope to enhance my skills through real world problems.
